More to Soothe the Soul

Afternoon sky on a wintery day

A Quiet Moment

Many people are hurting in today’s world. People have experienced betrayal, loss, poor health, financial struggle, poverty, mental health issues,  racism, sexism, hopelessness, job loss, death of a loved one, fear, ageing, starvation, bullying, homelessness, war, persecution…..So what keeps us going? God, love, family,  friendship, support, kindness, beauty (see photos), hugs, hope, forgiveness, moments of joy, loyalty, our physical fitness, our dreams, our prayers, sharing, listening, food and water, courage, determination…….every day and every moment are blank canvases which we can colour in any way we choose. We can make a difference, for the better, in our own lives and in those of others. We can choose to be grateful for what we do have and give thanks for that and if we feel we have little in life, we can begin to be mindful and notice…………. a flower blooms, offering us it’s colour; a stranger smiles at us; someone listens to us and really hears us; the rain falls; the sun shines; we feel the sun on our face; we hear the rain on roof; the wind tugs at out hair; our children hug us;  a rainbow glows; we taste our food; an eagle soars overhead; a dog nuzzles our hand; we feel our breath go in and out; we look up to the sky…..in all this we can see and feel life’s gifts, life’s ebb and flow and we can be hopeful and be happy to be alive.

Live well. Kindest regards and a big cyberspace hug to anyone who needs it. The photos are part of the cyberbeautyhug I send you all and below are more hugs. OOOOOO

Really enjoy reading the “Soothe the Soul” blogs. Thank you for brightening my day. M

    • Hi Maria, Thanks again for your comment. I see from your gravatar we have things in common…I love bushwalking too and clearly I’m into meditation. I attend a meditation group every week….it’s such a source of peace. I have read so much on it from many different faith perspectives. Regards
